I thought it would be nice to talk about hope today. What are your hopes for the future? Be as general or specific as you want. Which changes do you want to see in how we go about life and building our societies and communities? What dreams do you want to fulfil?

A few things from me:

I wish it were easier for humankind to live in accordance with the Cardamon Law. It’s simple and to the point: One shall not bother others, one shall be nice and kind, otherwise one may do as one pleases.

In the future I want to continue to take notice of the small wonders and joys of life. I hope I will have a small garden so I can keep learning how to tend one properly and be surrounded my flowers.

I dream of a stable full-time job, where I can feel secure and grow.

I hope the future will be kind to my nephew and niece, and all young people, that the natural environment and social environment will be healthy and stable. Meaning first we must be able to right wrongs and change how we go about a lot of things. A big one is learning how to coexist and live and let live, to see all human beings as humans and treat everyone accordingly.

I hope people in the future also have hope and can dream of better days and new horizons.

Whenever I see the word hope I think of the quote from The Last Jedi

‘Hope is like the sun, if you only believe in it when you can see it you’ll never make it through the night’

Those are good hopes to have

I hope people learn to be nicer to each other. The world is bad enough as it is without being nasty, but it’s something that has infected everywhere.

My only hope is I’m able to see my loves. They’re far away and I’ve never hated it more than I do now

I hope I can move house without catching COVID;

I hope they find a vaccine for COVID;

I hope my partner gets a job;

I hope the Democrats win the next US election, or, that if it's a Republican, it is literally anyone other than Trump;

I hope countries start seriously addressing climate change...

Crossing my fingers for a democrating win! I'm not from the US, but I will send all the good vibes I can.

Yes, I'm Australian, but the party in power in the US affects the rest of the world so much...

For myself:
*I hope I can find the energy to start working towards changing jobs some time later this year.
*I want to keep practicing mindfulness, and I want to keep growing as a person.

For the world:
*I wish we would stop repeating the mistakes of the past and work on being welcoming and practicing cooperation and transparency instead of being ultra nationalistic and hateful.
*I hope for more (truly) democratic governments around the world, and more and more rights and equality for women, gay and transgender people and other persecuted groups (kudos Costa Rica !).

I hope my work will return in September.

On a larger scale, I hope the US elections will not be won by the Orange Lord, that the world will return to a normal normal at some point.

And I hope that for the many small entrepreneurs in my town the opening up will be soon enough that they may salvage their businesses. Both because of the personal tragedy for them and their families if they do not, and because all of us will be so much the poorer in a world without small shops, restaurants, etc. They are the life blood of our communities.

I hope that my teenage son (just finishing 10th grade) will FINALLY find his fire and understand that education is important, and that it's worth putting some EFFORT into, and that, yes, any career that he wants will require some kind of education or training and EFFORT. Right now, we are terrified for his future.

I hope we can get rid of the sexist egotistical lying hypocritical bigot in the White House this fall.

I hope I figure out what I want to do with a MLS degree, and that going back to school isn't a mistake.

I dream the same dream that MLKjr had: that we can finally learn to treat each other with dignity and respect.

Thank you for saying so and phrasing it so well. I actually sat here with this post open for almost an hour yesterday, not knowing what to say in response. Even though I didn't type anything, I'm feeling better today. :) M.

Lovely topic!

I hope Biden wins in November. (Even better if it's a landslide and the Dems take the Senate, but let's not be too greedy.)

I hope there's an effective vaccine for COVID-19 sooner rather than later, and that there's enough for everyone around the globe who wants one.

I hope the current protests a) lead to meaningful change and b) don't lead to spikes in COVID cases.

I hope I enjoy the new job I'm about to start.

I hope I get to return to traveling next year.
